Anime makes it to Wall Street Journal front page

Anime coverage by “serious” news outlets is always serious news to me. So I’m tickled pink to find out that the illustrious Wall Street Journal featured little Washinomiya Shrine, whose attandance was pumped up by a popular manga and anime series that uses it for a setting.
The anime, titled Lucky Star, tells the story of twin sisters working as shrine maidens at Washinoya, and the anime and manga series’ popularity has directly helped the local economy, locals say.
